The next race for us will be at the old Loring Air Force Base in Maine on July 13-15 (tech inspection July 12).
This race is slightly different from Bonneville. At Bonneville you have about 3 miles to get up to speed and then you are timed over a flying mile or flying kilometer, and your official speed is the average speed over the mile (or kilometer).
At Loring you have a 1.5 mile paved track (the old runway) with a standing start. There is a speed trap at the 1.5 mile mark and that is your official speed. It is more like a long drag race but your MPH is recorded instead of the ET (elapsed time).
If you want to come and see us, racing starts on Friday July 13th at noon and ends on Sunday 15th at 4 PM.
