Back home in Denver. The conclusion is that it was a pretty successful week after all (despite four blown up motors). We established a world record for electric sidecar motorcycles (about 138 mph, FIM ratification still pending), made many new friends and took a big step towards our short-term goal of being the world’s fastest sidecar motorcycle and a small step towards the long-term goal of being the world’s fastest motorcycle of any kind.
We learned that KillaJoule behaves well up to at least 150 mph and found that the weakest link is the old DC motors. Thankfully we have the fix – a brand new gorgeous EVO Electric AC motor and Rinehart Motion Systems controllers. We will start the process of changing the drivetrain already tomorrow.
More details about the past week and our experiences will follow shortly. Until then – check out photos and comments on our Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.241600439209885.52277.134690893234174
