Just to clarify, the Loring AFB land speed race track is over 2.5 miles long, of which 1.5 miles is used for acceleration and just over a mile to slow down.
Stopping in 1 mile doesn’t sound like a challenge, but it is! If you don’t stop in time, you better bring your passport because you will end up in Canada. 😉
